A book that I finished

The book that I just finished, an hour or two ago, was...

13 gifts
By Windy Mass

It's the third from what I'm going to call the Birthday Series (not really a series, but it kind of is. And there's no name for the series, I just put Birthday there because it involves birthdays.) The other two books are 11 Birthdays, and Finally. They're pretty good, it of course involves the same town, and some of the same people as well as new ones. I would recommend those two books, in fact if you're thinking about reading the book mentioned above (picture,) don't just yet, because you won't really understand what's going on. Well you wouldn't understand how some of the characters are involved with this woman who has a duck birthmark. So go read it first, but as I remember I'm giving a review on 13 Gifts, not the first and second book. Here's the summary...

Goodreads Summary: Wendy Mass turns to another magical birthday: 13!

When Tara, a self-proclaimed shrinking violet, steals the school mascot, a goat, in order to make some friends with the popular crowd and gets caught, she gets herself in a heap of trouble. In addition, her parents decide that instead of taking her on their summer trip to Madagascar to study the courtship rituals of the Bamboo Lemur, she must go stay with her aunt, uncle, and bratty cousin Emily St. Claire in Willow Falls. Tara thinks it's a good time to start over; she'll be turning 13 after all, so she might as well make the best of it and perhaps even attempt to break out of her shell (in a non-criminal manner). What Tara doesn't know is that this charmed town has something big in store for her on her 13th birthday. It's not a typical birthday. But then again, nothing is Willow Falls is exactly typical!

My response to the book: It was really good, just as funny and teensy bit romantic as the other two books. And of course a lot of new peoples to meet, and the weirdest stuff ever. All in a small town that would have been kind of unrealistic in real life. I mean, who keeps their door unlocked anymore? There might be thieves living right next to you. *Shifty eyes* Well moving on, as usual it teaches, something new such as in this one, never try to give a guy you like in the eighth grade a punch that has a love potion in it. Because then it will guilt you, possibly for the rest of your life, and the lady with the duck birthmark will keep on sending you stuff about your daughter needing to pay your debt. It also teaches you about secrets, where there ones that you keep, and others that you can't keep or else it will probably kill you. And of course, there is the stuff about forgiveness, and how when you hated a person for a long time, all because of some middle school incident. It can become good in a way in the future. Plus don't release your feelings in negative ways such as cutting (not that there was any cutting in there! I just typed it, because I just want everyone to know about it by now.)

Bonne lecture vous les gars
Happy readings you guys.
