Yay, one more post till the big 100. Okay, I know I was suppose to post this yesterday, but I got a bit busy with stuff. So I'll post this today, and later on in the day (or night depending on where you are), I'll post the big 100.
The Hunger Games
An invigorating trilogy. Full of action, and romance, and a rebellion that will change the rest of Panem forever.
Here are the summaries that I got from Goodreads.com. If you haven't read it, I would recommend you to read it. And also watch out for spoilers in the next two books.
Suzanne Collins continues the amazing story of Katniss Everdeen in the phenomenal Hunger Games trilogy.Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead.
Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.
It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans -- except Katniss.
The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay -- no matter what the personal cost.
Sounds enticing, right? Well, I understand if you don't read it, and there's not that much bloody violence in the first book. If there was, well then it would be in the adult section at libraries, and book stores everywhere in the world. Which would suck, and I wouldn't be here telling you guys all about the book. As you may have heard they're shooting a movie on it. And it comes out in seven months, or if you want to count in days. It comes out in 229 days. And I'm really excited to see it. Well I don't have much more to say on the topic, instead now I'm just going to give you some links all about it. The first is to the books page on my blog. It has some of the pictures on THG, and a countdown widget.
