Lifescouts badge #13: Strike!

The first time I went bowling, it was at a fun center with my family. It was fun, but I lost. I believe my twin sister won that round. The second time I went bowling was with my twin sister, my older sister, and her roommate. It was fun, but I found myself in last place again. The third time I went bowling was with my older sister, her roommate, my twin, and my little brother. As usual, I lost, however, in the second game I won with about fifty points.

What I learned from all this: bowling is not my strong suit.

Lifescouts badge #11: Childhood games

When I was younger I used to play on my Nintendo ds a lot. And the video games themselves were, well, silly. It was just a few doggy games here and there, occasionally a Mario game (that my brother ‘lent’ me). And after a lot of time and frustration I was able to create some high scores but the price seemed to have been a non-working L button.

Along with the DS (or technically before), I would play on the GameCube with my brother. The games we would play was usually a Mario game or a war game. And the playing experience during that was tolerable, though slightly violent whenever my brother doesn’t win something.

And just like nearly every child, I used to play Pokémon. The version was the gold one, which by now is pretty old. And the game itself was pretty fun except for the few times when it froze and I forgot to save it before it happened. However, there came a day when I had to stop playing because my annoying little brother got rid of my gameboy and the game. I still haven’t entirely forgiven him for that.

Lifescouts badge #10: It's all about strategy

One of the many things school taught me was how to play chess. It’s a difficult game full of strategies that will hopefully help you win. However, the strategies seemed to have dropped into another brain that isn’t mine. Despite all these years, I’m not any better at chess than when I first started playing. The proof is found in all the games that I’ve played against my little brother. But despite it all, it’s still a fun game to play.
