A bucket list (part two)

It’s been nearly two years since I’ve posted my bucket list. And by then, I’ve only done two of those things, learn how to drive and be a kid again for one day. The other items are still waiting, preferably when I have more time and a lot of money. So while I’m waiting for the chance to actually do it, I decided to expand my list by ‘a little bit’.
  • Piss off the patriarchy in some way. Preferably while wearing some sexy, red lipstick.
  • Write a book that has an all female cast.

  • Dress up like the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who.
  • Go to the Who Shop in London.
  • If I happen to get an apartment one day: have the front door look like the front of the Tardis with a doormat that says bigger on the inside. And then make the living room look like one of the Tardis’s many control rooms.
  • Own a Tardis dress.

  • Have cookies delivered to me at midnight from Insomnia Cookies.
  • Have a hidden room in my house that is only used for stargazing.
  • Play the game, Cards Against Humanity.
  • Have a Disney movie marathon (with the 1997 Anastasia movie thrown into the mix).
source

  • Create a tumblr theme from scratch.
  • Write an entire blog post in French, and wonder how many people will actually understand it.

Hello 17

Text reads: Seventeen things I hope to accomplish within the next year
[texture by
roughseas]
  1. Figure out the basics about what I want to do after high school.
  2. Take the ACT test a few times.
  3. Love myself even more.
  4. Read a few great pieces of literature like Emma by Jane Austen, The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, and Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
  5. Have the nerve to ask somebody out on a date or a dance (though I doubt that will happen).
  6. Volunteer.
  7. Get my driver’s license.
  8. Write on one of my novels.
  9. Take care of myself.
  10. Learn about what’s happening in the world.
  11. Attempt to accomplish one of these goals and any other goals that I make.
  12. Work out for fun.
  13. Attempt to do yoga.
  14. Find a way to make money.
  15. Apply for scholarships.
  16. Try to accept others as they are.
  17. Be happy.

A [field] trip to a french restaurant part 2

You finish eating the last of your crepe, so you stand up and go outside (which thankfully is a bit sunny). With your camera in hand you begin to start exploring the garden of the French restaurant. You find a lot of ducks, water, and greenery as well as a couple of cottages. You smile as you're taking the pictures knowing this is a good picture opportunity, for you may never know when you're coming back to the restaurant again.

And here are the rest of the pics that I chose to share with you today from my trip to the French restaurant. There was a lot of geese (and guys not from my school scaring the geese). As well as a set of stairs to see some of the geese. You also had to watch where you're stepping in, because you might never know if some kind of bird dropping is right there. I also saw a couple of swans swimming and eating, swimming, and eating, etc. As well as a peacock on the roof, and another one on the ground. There was a hidden pathway that I think leads to a dead end, a bridge or two, the river, trees, cottages, etc.

Which makes me wonder, who lives at the French restaurant? Because I saw a house there even though it was mostly hidden by trees. Also, geese are not evil. *Randomly putting that out there*

And here's the rest of the tips

I don't have much to do, so why not post up the rest of the tips from Sparklife?

5. Get Rhino Tough
You’re ugly. You look like a spastic puppet when you run. Your hair is dumb and you smell like sandwiches.
If you are shedding a tear after reading that, you are not ready to be a writer. Writers must build up a tolerance to negative comments and rejection or else they will implode. Never take it personally. (I enjoy negative comments, but I’m also crazy.)
6. Write every day.
There’s no trick to this. Just do it. Every day. Even Christmas.
7. Ask for advice.
Send emails to the places you’d like to work and DON’T ask for a job. Instead, ask for advice. Editors are hounded by writers looking for work, and they tend to ignore the requests, but requests for advice are different. These requests will get their attention, and they are likely to respond. You won’t instantly get a job by doing this, but you will get valuable information about the specific type of writing job that interests you. Bonus tips: Keep the email short! Three sentences are all you get. And don’t you dare try to be funny, because it will always come across as desperate and sad. Be sincere and professional.
8. Be humble.
In New York City, there are 8 million people, and 8.5 million writers. You are not special. Your precious words are not made of treasured silk and whispers. So many writers think they have finally found the best way to say, “Love is strange,” and act as if we should all be thankful that their words exist. PUH-leeeze! You will have plenty of time to build a crazy ego once you’ve been published and are a millionaire. Until then, stop acting like tool box and take off that scarf! It's summer!
9. Be happy!
Do you know Kim Schifino, the drummer of the band Matt and Kim? Watch her drum. She is the happiest drummer of all time. She’s played these songs countless times and yet she’s still having fun. This is how you should feel about writing. When you sit at the keyboard, that same smile should appear on your face. If you don’t feel this enthusiastic, quit and become a chimney sweep.
10. Read this book.
There are 7,000,003 books out there about writing. You only need this one:
On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, by Stephen King

11. Wear less purple.
This is our favorite group of words ever published on the internet. That is all.

XD The last one is so random
