Fireworks
Fireworks
I like them
Red ones, blue ones, green ones
Eat the sky
Working its charm for the viewers
Orange ones, and yellow ones
Rocket toward the sky
Kissing the stars for a moment
Setting off the boredom of summer
Here's a poem I wrote about fireworks. It was fun on Independence Day, watching the fireworks in the cool night air. Grateful that it didn't rain. It was odd, I saw at least four different firework shows, from four different states. My state, Washington D.C, Massachusetts, and of course New York. Which made me wonder if they're going to start showing fireworks every year. Which would suck, because it wants you to see fireworks in real life, and/or make you wish that you were there right now.
Well here's a random pic, that I drew on Paint. It showed that the fireworks were everywhere, so very far away, while they were blasting off. It was very pretty, and I got to watch it for free from my house. It was kind of hard, because I had to keep on turning my head to watch it all at once.

Happy Fourth of July!
Happy Fourth of July everyone. I hope you have a fun filled day today, and if you don't live in the U.S., then have a fun filled day anyways. Since we all shouldn't live our life in sadness, because that's just wasting your true meaning of life.
Which I got to ask, one question. Why do we celebrate Independence Day? Is it for the food, the fun, the games? Or is it to celebrate the day the United States became a country. Finally moving out from their father's- Britain's- rule. Because it seems like to me that we've been celebrating Independence Day, for the fun, and games. In fact we've been kind of skimping the true meaning of holidays. It seems to me that, we've been celebrating holidays, just because it's a fun thing to do, vaguely remembering the true meaning of why we celebrate them.
I'm not saying we should just stop having fun on this day, with parades, BBQ, and other stuff. Because it's also fun to hang out with friends and family on this day. I'm saying that we should be grateful, and at least remember why we celebrate it. That the actual true meaning, is to be grateful that the USA finally got away from Britain's rule, and become its own country. The other true meaning, is to remember the Declaration of Independence, when the United States declared their independence against Great Britain.
In fact we wouldn't even be having an Independence Day today if we were still under Britain's rule. We would all be speaking British, sipping tea (no offense to any British people reading this), and enjoying the ways of Britain.
So please take this day today to remember the true reason why we celebrate Independence day. Not because it's all a great party, but because of the U.S declaring their independence.

P.S. If you hadn't done so already, please enter my summer contest, for more info please go here http://sweetsgalore.blogspot.com/2011/06/writing-contest.html. I'll post a summery story/poem of mine when I get the chance. Also please take my poll, of what I should have more of. Thanks, in advance.

A book Review of: I am Number Four
Hello guys!
Today I'm doing a book review on the book I am Number Four. In my opinion this book was really good even though I kind of saw the movie before the book. So I was kind of confused in the beginning, but be glad that I didn't finish the movie ever. The book was a bit fast paced, and interesting in some parts, and a bit too lovey-dovey in others. And rarely boring.
Here's a summary I found online, because you would get confused with mine, because it's such a good book, and I might give something away.
Smith has just arrived in Paradise, Ohio, just another stop in a string of small towns where the 15-year-old has been hiding out from the Mogadorians. Those terrifying aliens are hellbent on destroying him and the other nine Loric children who have sought refuge on Earth. The Mogadorians are picking off the surviving kids in numerical order. The first three are dead and John's number is up. Will his Legacies, his defining super powers, develop in time for him to fight against the enemy?
You might be wonder who's the Loric children, and who the heck are the Mogadorians. You will only know if you read the book. I would highly recommend it if you like a bit of adventure, romance, and YA. It will keep you on your toes at night, making you wonder about some stuff.
Number one died in Malaysia
Number two died in England
Number three died in Kenya.

Camp Nanowrimo
I'm sure you may have heard by now, about Camp Nanowrimo. If not, then I shall tell you, it's practically much like Nanowrimo, just write a novel of about 50K words in either the summer months, which is July or August. If you want you can do both. You can check more here.
And so now, it's unofficial, since it's on the forums, not an actual site on its own. They'll have the official ywp, camp nano open next year, as its own site. It's pretty fun too at the unofficial camp, you're allowed to not work on a new novel, and instead continue working on your own. As cited here.

I already have an account there (1018mockingjay), so if you want to send me a message. I'll most likely respond back. Though I'm not actually participating in the official thing, even though I'm old enough to join. I'm doing the unofficial camp one on ywp.nanowrimo.org. For more info you can go here, but I'm warning you it'll work if you have an account there.
If you don't, then I'll shall tell you all about it. It's like the official one on nano, only they didn't have enough money to do it for the ywp one. So a genourus person that's the moderator on both the nano, and ywp one, decided to make a forum for it for the people that aren't 13 and up. Because you have to be about 13 and up to have an account on the main site(s).And so now, it's unofficial, since it's on the forums, not an actual site on its own. They'll have the official ywp, camp nano open next year, as its own site. Well, here are the official rules from Camp NaNoWriMo:
- What: Writing one 50,000-word novel from scratch in a month's time.
- Who: You! We can't do this unless we have some other people trying it as well. Let's write laughably awful yet lengthy prose together.
- Why: The reasons are endless! To actively participate in one of our era's most enchanting art forms! To write without having to obsess over quality. To be able to make obscure references to passages from our novels at parties. To be able to mock real novelists who dawdle on and on, taking far longer than 30 days to produce their work.
- When: You can sign up anytime to add your name to the roster. Writing begins 12:00:01 AM on July 1, and again on August 1. To be added to the official list of winners, you must reach the 50,000-word mark by 11:59:59 PM on the last day of the month. Once your novel has been verified by our web-based team of robotic word counters, the partying begins.
However, this is an unofficial version, so it's entirely up to you. The rules are basically the same as regular NaNoWriMo, so ideally from scratch, but this a self challenge... do whatever you like!

Which is good, because I'm not really willing to work on a new novel. If you go to my summertime goals post, there will be a goal of mine to finish the first draft of my book. Well enough of my rambling, if you're wondering how much I really want to write instead of 50K, it will be 25K in both July and August. Which will result in 50K by the end of the summer. So far on day one, I did well writing 849 words today, well another 24,151 words to go. Also if you're curious about what I'm writing about, just be patient, because I'm going to tell you guys soon, but not now. Here's the link to it, that I posted from one of my earlier posts, http://sweetsgalore.blogspot.com/2011/01/excerpt-from-my-book-one-im-writing.html.
P.S. Don't forget to enter my contest, if you hadn't, for more info please go here. Also please answer my poll, on what I should have more of, it's not going to end in while.
