MIA no more.

I didn't have access to a computer for three-fourish days, and you know what? It felt (mostly) nice not to be on the computer because it meant that I was out somewhere living my life. However, it’s kind of bad because I’m far behind on my Camp Nanowrimo novel (that I most likely won’t finish, though I might work on it during November). But it’s good in a way because I have new stories to tell. Another bad thing, I have a lot to catch up on; a good thing would be is that I’m mostly ready for school. Bad, good, bad, good, I shall not bore you with all the bad and good things about not having a computer for three-fourish days.
Now it is time for you to listen to the stuff that I did in the last few days that doesn’t involve many pictures during the experience (that is if, I took any pictures).
8/23/12
-         Going to the amusement park with my siblings. And that’s it, all it involved was an hour or so of silence on the car ride there. And going on rides, waiting in line, getting wet at the added in (small) water park, having fun, eating a churro, nachos, fries, and other classic and not so classic amusement park foods. It was fun, minus the fact that I got kind of sick after the whole thing was over.
8/24/12
-         Getting glasses.

Reminds me of one of those grannies that sits in a rocking chair, knitting.

Or else it meant asking my friends to read the board for me again, (it gets annoying after a while).
-         Getting a haircut. No picture because I’m not feeling camera ready today but if you’re curious as to what it looks like… my hair got cut up to my chin which now frames my face. It’s short enough that I don’t have to brush it much or deal with it when I wake up, which is nice because it saves me time, meaning I can do something else (such as read) instead of mess around with my hair.
-         Watching two movies. The first movie I saw was this [To The Arctic 3D]; it was kind of boring, kind of interesting, and kind of sad. If you’re interested in the Arctic, then I would recommend watching To The Arctic 3D. The second movie I saw was this [Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted]; it was funny and well made. Most of the time it made me question the mechanics of the movie (how do they set up a circus without human help?) Even though, I didn’t watch the second movie, I understood most of what was going on, because it didn’t rely too much, on what has happened in the other two movies. It was also sweet and magical. The circus looks amazing filled with neon lights and stuff, it makes me want to go there now even though it’s fake. I also want to go visit the Circus of Dreams from the book The Night Circus. It’s black and white with a dash of red, filled with truly magical stuff that doesn’t involve illusion of any kind.
8/25/12
-         I went to my dad’s work picnic with my family which simply involved eating picnic food and watching my dad talk to his friends (makes me feel slightly lonely in this world).
-         Going to an Italian festival with my two sisters. That involved looking around at the booths and seeing inside the church filled with beautiful stained glass windows. It also involved a little prayer for the upcoming events in life.
-         Going to a South American festival, which like the other festival simply involved going around, looking at booths. It also involved in getting a lot of green and three non-green items, a scarf, headband, bracelet, a big flower… here’s a picture.

-         Seeing two more movies. One of them was Born to be Wild; an amazing movie about people taking care of baby elephants and orangutans who are orphans that eventually gets release back into the wild. I would recommend it to anyone who likes documentaries about animals. Another movie I saw was the Katy Perry: Part of Me movie. It was surprisingly good, I learned about her childhood, her early career, to right now. And it was all filled with hardships and happiness as well as somewhere in between. I would recommend it to anyone that’s interested in documentaries that isn’t going to make you sleep.
Today
-         Look around at more booths at another festival, involving food and a lot of jewelry.
-         Get yelled at for reasons I shall not mention.
-         Get ready for school tomorrow.
-         A lot of looking and making creative stuff such as this blog post (though I don’t know if you would call this creative).
Now, it’s time for a goodbye. I’ll have another blog post that isn’t filled with what I did in the last few days. However, it might be filled with what has happened at school that day… It’s also going to have the inspirational Monday pictures. Also, if you follow my writing blog, I’m bringing back the, a school story a day thing. More information shall be found here.
Now, I have to finish planning for school and get to sleep. Have a wonderful day/night.

Love,

P.S, good luck to anyone starting school!

Classes and such

Hello everyone, and welcome to Sweets Galore; if you’re following me thank you, if you’re just browsing then continue on, but if you want, you can stay.
School starts in one week from now and I’m absolutely terrified. I’m also really excited for school to start as well; it’s just that I’m not excited right now. I finally have my class schedule, which I will post in a minute. As well as new clothes and school supplies. I know that should be enough to get me through the ten-ish months of school. However, I feel like I should have something more, such as more locker decorations and/or a paying job [specifically at the library]. The locker decorations are easy to get but the job hunt is hard or will be hard if I started on it. I also want to drive to school instead of walk or take the bus but I’m scared of crashing or getting into an accident, especially if my loved ones are with me.
You know, the more I think about it, the more it’s true. Fear seems to be the only thing holding me back from achieving some of my goals such as getting a job and learn how to drive. And that’s bad because it means I’ll never achieve those goals if I continue to let fear get in the way.
It’s also a brave thing for me to walk to school, if I didn’t do that I’ll probably be stuck on the computer forever. And that is both good and bad; good because I’ll never have to leave the house and I’ll probably learn faster, bad because I don’t leave the house and I’ll probably procrastinate more often. So it’s a good thing I have school, homework, dances, any other school activities, libraries, and etc to take me away from the computer or else I would have became a  mindless robot by now.
Speaking of school, I promised to show you my classes, did I? Well here it is.

A day classes B day classes
World Civilizations Honors Graphic Communications
Biology Honors College Prep class
Computer Technology College Math
English Honors French 4

I find it odd that my school is still keeping the A day classes and the B day classes when they’re going to do the regular eight day schedule (or so I have heard.) Wouldn’t it be easier for everyone to say first period, second period, third period, etc? Instead of saying, "Go to your fourth period class."
"Which fourth period class?" Oh well, in my opinion it’s easier to write down 1A, 1B, etc, on a piece of paper and not the whole 1st or first period.
I need inspiration for the whole school year as well. So starting every Monday all the way to whenever the school year ends (or I might just continue it, who knows?) I’ll post an inspiring picture or two or five or so and I’ll try to look up to it and listen to it for the entire week or year. It will certainly help when I’m feeling down because of life.
And there will probably be a subject for the inspiring pictures, or not, depending on my mood. So it will begin today and today’s subject will be… fear because of my fear for completing some of my goals.
And here’s the first picture:

Have an amazing day/night.
Love,

Elephants marching down the street and my older sister.

My days are like a void, filled with nothing but darkness…
Well it’s not exactly like that, my days are normal for the most part. Get up in the morning, get ready, eat, read, write, go on the internet, etc. However, I’ve been doing that for the past few days and it’s boring. I want something exciting happening, right then and now, like elephants marching down the street because they’re angry that the grocery stores in my town won’t give them peanuts. However, the neighbors might not like it because the elephants just disrupted their relaxation time/sleep, which they need because they have to go to the stressful place called work tomorrow.
I also want Thursday to come already because I’m going to the amusement park with my older sister. This will be nice because it will simply be the two of us and hopefully no one else. Though that would interfere with Camp Nanowrimo quite a bit, but it will be worth it in my opinion. Simply, because I haven’t really spent some time alone with my older sister that doesn’t involve my twin getting in the way.
And my older sister’s birthday is exactly one week from now…
I should be making her birthday gift by now instead of procrastinating on it. And I have a great idea about what to get her. The gift for her is free because if I buy her something chances are she will already has it or she will never read it or wear it. Plus, she has too much stuff already. If you’re curious as to know what it is, I’ll give you a hint. It involves a balloon and the number twenty-four.
In fact, I think I’ll work on it now. That is after; I show you a song that I can’t stop listening to lately.

Have a nice day/night. And I’ll post something better tomorrow.

Love,

Sharing the love~

Liebster – German for favorite, dearest, dear, or my dear, according to Google translator. That means that the Liebster Blog Award stands for Favorite Blog, Dearest Blog, Dear Blog, or My Dear Blog. The more you know.

So, as you can see from the picture of the Liebster Blog Award, I’ve got nominated for the award again. Thanks to Juliet from A Purple Sky for nominating me.  Unlike last time where I just tagged people who had fewer than two hundred followers, I also have to name 11 facts about me; answer 11 questions from the last blogger; ask 11 new questions; and tag 11 people.

Official rules:
The Liebster Award are for bloggers with less than 200 followers. Award winners share 11 facts about themselves, answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who tagged them, come up with 11 of their own questions and tag 11 more bloggers with the award.
That seems easy, I guess…

11 random facts about me
  1. I like the actor, David Tennant, who plays the tenth Doctor in the show Doctor Who.
  2. The only two states I’ve been to in the United States are Nevada and California.
  3. The only Olympic event that I’ve watched all the way, was the Closing Ceremonies.
  4. I used to be on the Academic Team – nicknamed the Nerd Herd – in the seventh and eighth grade.
  5. I used to be in a book club my friend made, but we didn’t really read anything because it failed after a month.
  6. I do weird things when I’m bored such as clean my room for three days straight.
  7. One of my favorite childhood movies is Anastasia.
  8. I can’t decide if I like Taylor Swift’s new song We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together or not.
  9. I like to wear dresses but only if it is a nice day out.
  10. I have a giant unabridged English dictionary that used to belong to my dad who had it because it made him look smart.
  11. I want a white, fluffy, havanese dog when I grow up.
My answers to the previous eleven questions asked by Juliet.
  1. What book are you currently reading? I’m reading Rapture by Lauren Kate, the last book in the Fallen series.
  2. What was the best movie you've ever seen? It’s a tie between The Hunger Games and The Lorax.
  3. Have you ever dreamed at night that you were in a book, movie, or TV show? Which one? When I was sick, I dreamt of the book The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor. It felt like I was actually right there in the book, it was weird…
  4. Where's the best place you've ever visited? I have no clue, but it just might be the state capital of my state.
  5. What's your dream job? My dream job is to become an author, and I don’t care if I make it to the best seller list or not, because I just want to get my stories out there.
  6. What awards have you won? Blog awards or real life awards? Blog awards you can check in my tidbits page. Real life awards, I have too many to count. A couple of them include the Vietnamese Outstanding Achievement award, the no tardies award, an award for having a 4.0 GPA all year, and more.
  7. Did you work in high school or college? What did you do? / Or, if you are too young to have a job, where do you want to work for a high school/college job? I want to try working at a newspaper place when I’m college, as for high school I don’t know but I should choose soon.
  8. Do you speak more than 1 language, even if it's just a sentence or two? I speak three languages, English, Vietnamese (not much), and three years of French.
  9. Do you play any instruments? I knew how to play a song on the piano, but by now I forgot about it.
  10. Oh my goodness, I'm struggling to think of questions... how do you think of these?? These are good questions to ask people.
  11. Ermmm... this is embarrassing. OK, would you risk your life (and I mean, REALLY risk it) for someone you love? *Shrugs* Depends on the person and the situation.

My questions
  1. What is the first book that you can think of?
  2. What fictional place do you really want to go to?
  3. What fictional place do you not want to go to?
  4. What animal can you relate to?
  5. What is your pet peeve?
  6. If you were able to make a new public holiday; what will the public holiday be about and on what day?
  7. What would be the most annoying super power to have?
  8. If you were on the run; what crime did you commit and where would you run to?
  9. Would you want a perfect world (no crimes, wars, hunger, sickness, etc) but no free will or would you want an imperfect world with free will?
  10. You’re the leader of a new planet; what would you name it and where is it in the universe?
  11. What is the meaning behind the name of your blog?

And I will give the award to…

Now comes the wait.

Source

The 2012 Summer Olympics is officially over; now comes the wait for the 2016 Olympics that are going to be held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Will the Opening and Closing ceremonies be as amazing as the ones held in London? Will there be many dancing, music, singing, etc?
Will my nineteen-year-old self be glued to the TV? Or will I write on my novels and hang out with my college friends?
Why do I bother asking these questions?
Last night, I found myself glued to the television watching the Closing Ceremonies, and it was amazing. From the singing, the acting, the dancing, the stomping, the talks, the torch going out, to the fireworks. I found it magical and I almost wished I could have been there enjoying it all. However, watching it on television was just as good.
So, did you watch the any part of the Olympics? If so, what part – the sports, the Opening Ceremony or the Closing Ceremony? If you didn’t watch the Olympics, than what did you do during the time?
I’ll reward the 175th commenter (just five more comments away…). The winner can guest blog on my blog or I can guest blog on your blog if you have one, or I can give you some html advice, or something else that’s just as good.  Now have a nice day/night.

A travelling book

Source
Don't you just love getting a package in the mail, especially a package that holds a book? If so, then you might be interested in doing the epic book travelling idea that Faith from The Love of Words is doing. It’s where you get a book, read it for a week, then send it off to the next person, then another person will send you a different book, and the cycle will repeat all over again. So it will look a lot like this, only there might be more books and/or people.

It’s a fun idea that might bring you new friends. You can write little notes (that doesn’t involve spoilers to the other people that still hasn’t read them) in the book and if you want, you can send the next reader something. You get the same person to send the book to, and the same person that’s sending you the book.

It does involve some money though because it’s using the postal system. And your address… but it’s a fun idea and I want to do it. So if you’re the person that I have to send the book to next be prepared because I might send you some notes/bookmarks/random stuff that will most likely say, “Enjoy the book ^.^”

If you want some more information on it, go here, and if you’re ready to start doing it go sign the contract after reading the rules and questions. After all, you do want to know what you’re getting yourself into.

Have an amazing day/night~

Camp Nanowrimo update #1

13439/50000
Status: On track.
Chapter: Five
Character's POV that I'm writing about right now: Echo, Lana, Ethan aka Etho.
Bits and pieces from the story: (They're slightly edited)

While, sweet little Ethan just held me tighter, quietly listening through it all. ~ Echo.
I tilt my head a little bit more, confused. "Gallery? Why would I be going to the gallery?" ~ Lana
Darn, I’m screwed, I think to myself, while I stand up taller awaiting orders. ~ Ethan
.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Words they seem to just flow through my fingers these days. Only they come at a slow pace because the internet keeps on distracting me like this picture.

Eventually I freak out because a bit too much time (an hour or two?) passes by, and I've only written a hundred or so words. But as they say during Nanowrimo time, just keep on writing, just keep writing, just keep writing (in tune to the just keep swimming song on Finding Nemo.)

So if you're freaking out about having no words written for Camp Nanowrimo...

Also...

So it's a good thing that my notebook for my Camp Nanowrimo novel is sitting next to me. Despite my kind of messy handwriting, it has proven itself useful so far.

Also words are nice, don't you think? You can say anything you want to say, make whatever you want that disregards the rules of reality, and well do anything you want, and it's yours because you're the one that is writing it.

And if you continue writing it, ignoring the negative parts about it, and finish your first draft. Then you're well on your way towards the middle, which is the editing/rewriting part of it. And then eventually you get through the middle and you are done with it. However, that's not the end because there are certainly more editing to come if you are thinking about publishing it.

And as for me, well I should stop being uncertain about my novel and just write it. I should just let my novel lead me to wherever it should go. After all, the fun novels are best written when you don't have a clue about where it goes.

However, for the moment I would like to finish season two of Doctor Who with my new penguin friend, David. Who is named after the actor that plays the tenth doctor, David Tennant.

I would also like to sleep but I doubt I'll get that soon. So I'll settle for a picture form for the moment.

Have an amazing day/night.

High School

I'm scared because the first day of high school starts in exactly three weeks from now. This means goodbye gradeless (or in between grades) and hello sophomore year. Where, there's going to be more responsibility that involves college math, a college preparatory class, lots of homework, and maybe a club or two. Mix in NaNoWriMo in November and I'm going to need help sleeping properly.

Another reason why I’m scared is because it’s the final three years that I don’t have to worry much about anything. It is the final time that I have to worry about food; the final time to worry about having a roof over my head; and the last time to have plenty of free time to really go on the computer.

Soon three years will be over in no time, and I’ll find myself in a college or university somewhere in the world, studying. Only what will I study? How can I apply that to my writing? And how will I get the money to pay for my studies? Writing a book and publishing it takes years, and I doubt that I have years to pay it off then. There are scholarships, SATS, and possibly ACTS to worry about…

See, it’s still summer and school is already worrying me.

However, I’m slightly excited about going back to school. I’ll get to see friends that I’ve “promised” to see during the summer and meet some new ones (goodbyes to old ones are over by now.) There are interesting things to learn about like the Civil War or how to dissect a pig (interesting to learn but I don’t want to actually do it.) There are fun and nice teachers that can help me get into a good college (my older sister’s talks about college are starting to rub off onto me.) There are activities to do such as Spirit Week and Homecoming. Dances to go to that will either result in an awkward but fun time or a nice and still fun time. Clubs to join that can help extend my social circle and my resume/college application. Plus it lets me stay away from the computer most of the day, which is both good and bad. Also school will help me get my sleeping schedule back on track… hopefully.

So what about you, fellow viewers, readers, and people that have happened to chance onto my blog; are you excited and/or scared for school? Why? And when does school start for you? Comment below and if you happened to be the 175th commenter or somewhere close to it (because the 175th commenter might be me) then you get an award. I don’t know what the award is but hopefully it will be awesome.
Have an amazing day/night~

P.S

I'm now contributing to Blog for Joy. It's a really cool blog that has more than one topic, such as photography, writing, poetry, computer art, craft, etc. I'm excited about adding my own twist (writing, photography, etc.) onto that site for about once a week or so. It would be nice if you can follow or just check it out to see if it's your cup of tea, considering that it's a unique blog with many topics.

*Isn't sure what to say really*

Camp Nanowrimo is going really well for me. ^. ^ I'm 14% into novel with a total of about 7115 words. I'm slightly paranoid when it comes to saving my novel though; as well as my laptop, I save my novel to seven other places (skydrive, google docs, my flash drive, and I email it to my four email accounts.) That’s a lot, I know, but as they say better safe than sorry.

I’m also pleased with my main characters; though I’m surprised I have three. Their names are Lana (female), Ethan aka Etho (male), and Echo (female). Normally, I have two but one just popped up I guess. They’re really fun to write with, especially the unexpected one. Though I guess, I should stop talking about my novel or else I might spoil the ending.

So here are songs I’ve been liking lately ~

I like this song because it's not a love song but a song about friendship, and the music video is funny.

This song reminds me of Ethan's love for Echo, which is sweet the more I write the book.

 Have an amazing day~

Camp Nanowrimo 2012~

Starts today! ^.^
For those of you who don't know what Camp Nanowrimo [National Novel Writing Month] is, it's a writing event where you try to write 50,000 words in a single month. It came from the original NaNoWriMo event that starts in three months aka November.

It's a very nice event that can help shut up your inner editor and let your crazy juices out. In other words, while writing your novel during any kind of Nanowrimo, it's going to be really messy because you've added events that shouldn't be there, all in hopes to raise your word count. However, it's nice because that novel that you've been wanting to write since you were a little kid is already out on paper. Though, the editing process will not be a pleasant job.

So  far, I've written... 60 words for my Camp Nanowrimo novel. And for some odd reason, I'm laughing about that. My biggest distraction so far is the internet especially here and the Nanowrimo sites. Also, I've decided to go with...

Cover made by featherdancer from the YWP nanowrimo forums.
So, thank you everyone for helping me decide my plot. Now, I should get off and complete my goal of 50 K. (though 35 K is just as good as well).

Have an amazing day and if you're particpating in Camp Nanowrimo...
WRITE.

Love,
